Cuttlefish Casting Workshop

This workshop wasn't what I expected when I went in but I really enjoyed learning a new process and using new materials.

I used cuttlefish and calved a design into it using the sculpting tools, creating a two part mould. I found it challenging to make sure they were lined up correctly. I used wire to bind them together and then poured melted metal into the top. When it had cooled I seperated the mould and started to saw and file the metal into the shape I wanted so that it was smooth.
