Lighting Plan and Testing

Lighting Ideas:

The first image will reveal parts of images to represent that it's a dream/vision, to do this I will use a slit cut in cardboard and a spotlight which will shine light onto part of the face.

To create a silhouette of a male figure for the second image we will use backlighting. This will probably be a single powerful light, similar to the ones used in the exorcist. Not being able to see the mans face here will create mystery. We will have a low power light on the rest of the set, this could have a wash to create the 'rainbow' effect.

We will set up two lights for the 'lovers' this will be soft light. They will be photographed separately so that we can have contrasting background colours (red/blue) and then a colour gel on the light (blue/red). This will represent the different feelings of the characters.

The last image is the most gory and sinister. To create this effect with the lighting I will have red lighting and a white florescent light on the stab wound to emphasise that.

Setup:

The setup for all of our images will have a black background. If we can it will be material as this will give a heavier more textured effect.
